STATE, LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT LINES UP BEHIND PALUMBO FOR STATE SENATE CAMPAIGN

Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo today announced a coalition of 23 New York police unions, representing more than 200,000 law enforcement officers, is backing his campaign for New York State Senate. In addition to Palumbo, this coalition has endorsed five other Republican state Senate candidates in this year’s upcoming election.

“Right now, the brave men and women serving in law enforcement are under attack and our communities are suffering because of it,” said Palumbo. “We have seen a disturbing increase in violent crime due to the disastrous bail reform law, and other radical policies have made it harder and more dangerous for police officers to do their jobs.

“As the son of a Suffolk County homicide detective and a former prosecutor myself, I am appalled by policies like Defund the police being pushed in Albany, on Long Island and across New York State. Proposals like this make our communities less safe and only make it harder for police to serve and protect.”

“This election is about taking a stand against these insane ideas and making public safety a top priority again. I am honored to have the universal backing and strong support of New York’s law enforcement organizations for my campaign for State Senate. I know that by working together we can end the lawlessness that is sweeping over our state,” Palumbo concluded.

In addition to backing Assemblyman Palumbo for his consistent commitment to law enforcement, the coalition of New York police unions is also targeting several Long Island and Hudson Valley State Senate Democrats who voted to: release violent criminals without bail, turn over victim and witness information to criminals and their attorneys and grant voting rights to paroled felons.
